Support Local

We know that the holiday season may be a little different this year. While this is an adjustment for everyone, we want to encourage residents to make the most of it while exploring and supporting local.

Keep reading for more information about how you can enjoy your winter holiday safely at home.

Shop online

Looking for some last-minute stocking stuffers, but don’t want to deal with the hassle of shipping or stores? Take your cart online and shop local from the comfort of your couch! Check out our Shop and Dine Map for up-to-date info, as many local stores are offering curbside pickup and contactless delivery.

Check out Look Local’s digital marketplace and shop multiple local businesses at once and buy out of the same cart. They will be donating $1 to local food banks for every item purchased throughout the holiday season. Click here to browse local business offers: looklocal.ca

Order takeout

Restaurants have been hit hard, so why not set aside some time to taste test local grub this winter? Designate one night a week as a takeout night and experience some local fare from home. Take a look at our Shop and Dine map for up-to-date info on takeout, delivery and contactless pickup.

Buy gift cards

Though you might not be able to enjoy your favourite local theatre, bowling alley or spa right now, you can still buy a gift card for later. Gift cards make great gifts for the holiday season and help businesses weather the storm.

Stay local if needed

All of our hotels are working diligently to maintain safe and clean environments for all. They can provide safe and comfortable rooms for those who are in need of a place to quarantine or isolate. You can read more about each of their specific practices here
