As the weather warms up, parks, gardens, and waterfront trails come alive with beautiful flowers and scenery, making Oakville a must-visit destination during the spring! Check out these spots where you can enjoy the views to the fullest.

Gairloch Gardens

1306 Lakeshore Road East, Oakville

Gairloch Gardens comes alive each spring as one of Oakville’s most picturesque waterfront escapes. Overlooking Lake Ontario, its sprawling garden and winding pathways make it a favourite for strolls and picturesque moments. In late April through early May, their cherry blossoms bloom for a short but notable seasonal display. Be sure to visit their stunning rose garden too, which bursts into bloom in mid-June.

Neyagawa Park

Neyagawa Park features a more modest cherry blossom display compared to larger parks, but it remains an ideal destination for those seeking a calm and tranquil atmosphere.

Westwood Park

173 Kerr Street, Oakville

In between shopping in Kerr Village, stroll through the scenic Westwood Park. Featuring a custom-designed metal gazebo and greenery, it’s a must-visit location. Be sure to check out their small collection of cherry blossom trees (typically in bloom between late April and early May).

Tannery Park

10 Walker Street, Oakville

Known for its open green space and views of Oakville’s famed lighthouse, Tannery Park’s standout feature is its beacon and observation deck, which offers elevated views of the Oakville Lighthouse, over the harbour, shoreline, and surrounding area. With its paved paths and relaxed atmosphere, it’s a great place for walking, cycling, or taking in the scenery from above.

Shell Park

3307 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville

Spring brings Shell Park to life with vibrant greenery. It’s home to more than 500 blooming roses between June and September and 10,000 annuals in flower from May to September, making it the perfect spot for a stroll or a peaceful picnic.

Oakville Municipal Greenhouse and Conservatory

1100 Cornwall Road, Oakville

Don’t let those gloomy rainy days get in the way of enjoying nature! The Oakville Municipal Greenhouse and Conservatory is open 7 days a week from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. until June 30. Experience picturesque views and thousands of plants, including many tropical ones not found anywhere else!
