Oakville is home to an extensive 200km+ trail system that perfectly weaves through the town’s infrastructure.
Get lost in your own town for a day and immerse yourself in nature with our one-day “in the trails” itinerary.
Note: The suggestions below are based on information available in early April. Please double check with local COVID-19 policies and businesses to confirm if offers and activities are still available.
Take advantage of all the open space and practice social distancing when out and about in local trails. Try exploring a new trail and avoid overcrowding at local hot spots.
Sixteen Mile Morning
There are plenty of entrances and parking lots throughout Oakville leading into this trail, so you can hike for however long or short you want.
Pro tip: Hike along the inner valley route for some amazing outlooks onto the creek.
Midday walk at Bronte Creek Provincial Park
Take your afternoon to a different part of Oakville and explore the trails of Bronte Creek Provincial Park.
Continue to challenge yourself or take it easy after your morning walk with one of five different trails. Explore the land, let your dog run around at their leash-free park, learn about the history of Spruce Lane Farmhouse and say hi to all the animals that call this park home.
Once you’ve finished your meal, enjoy the beautiful sunset with a stroll through a lakeside trail in spots like Lakeside Park, Waterworks Park or Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park.
