OAKVILLE – As Canada celebrates National Tourism Week (April 7-11), Visit Oakville is inviting residents and visitors alike to join in the celebration and explore everything the town has to offer. This year’s theme, “Canada: Powered by Tourism,” highlights the industry’s vital role in driving the nation’s prosperity, supporting 1 in 10 jobs across the country, and contributing over $130 billion in annual economic activity.

“Tourism is an important part of Oakville’s economy and community, supporting local businesses, creating jobs and showcasing what makes our town special,” said Rebecca Edgar, Executive Director of Visit Oakville. “It’s never been more important to support local – and Canadian – whether that’s by exploring a destination, shopping Canadian brands, or dining at locally owned restaurants.  National Tourism Week is the perfect time to celebrate the power of tourism, and I encourage visitors and residents to explore all that Oakville has to offer.”
