We’re thrilled to announce that the Oakville Historical Society has won the Talk of the Town Award for Best Tour Experience.
Step back in time with a guided tour through historical Oakville. Tours can be arranged for six people or more by contacting the Society and include:
- Oakville St Mary’s Cemetery Walk;
- Old Oakville, Heritage Houses Walk in the old part of the town on the east side of the harbour;
- Main Street Walk
- Trafalgar Road Walk from Randall St north to Spruce and back.

Oakville Museum at Erchless Estate, located at 8 Navy Street, placed second in this category. The restored estate is the former residence of Oakville’s founding family: the Chisholms. The gardens on the property are also restored to their historic appearance from photographs taken in the early 1900s.
Visitors can learn about the family and local history through the exhibits and stories told by knowledgeable museum staff during the guided tours.
