Lakeshore Winter Views
First, you must experience Oakville’s winter scenery from the shoreline of Lake Ontario.
Lakeside Park, Waterworks Park, Coronation Park or Bronte Heritage Park offer the best trails to adventure around the waterfront. So be sure to capture the sunset shimmering off of the lake and tag us @visitoakville when you share your images on social media!
Skating, Snowshoeing and Skiing
Grab a pair of skates and head to one of Oakville’s 15 outdoor skating rinks.
Do you want to skate under the stars? We recommend Trafalgar Park because it has outdoor lighting until 8 PM. You can even rent a pair of skates from the Trafalgar Community Centre (limited quantities are available).
Additionally, you can try a fun new activity! Grab your snowshoes or cross-country skis and visit Bronte Creek Provincial Park. This place features trails and winter landscapes to view on your hike!
Shopping
Dove + Arrow, a recipient of The Talk of The Town award for Best Local Shopping, carries home decor and unique locally made goods. They also host DYI workshops where you can create and take home your masterpiece! This place is located in the heart of Kerr Village at 363 Kerr St.
Lakeside Livin’ Home Decor, at 100 Bronte Rd, offers a unique opportunity to shop a wide selection of nautical and coastal-themed gifts and décor. They also offer jewelry and accessories. So take a short drive to Bronte village and see for yourself.
Maker’s Mojo. Are you searching for a one-of-a-kind item? Come by Maker’s Mojo and check out their selection of hand-crafted products. Here you can also pick up a unique jewelry or home décor piece for yourself or a loved one. The place is located at 331 Lakeshore Road E.
Oakville Art And History
Oakville Museum. Located at 8 Navy Street, this estate was the former residence of Oakville’s founding family. Visitors can also hear stories about the town’s history, admire historical artifacts and check out any ongoing exhibitions, including Oakville’s Flower: HMCS Oakville. This exhibition displays artifacts from a Second World War naval ship with heavy ties to the Town of Oakville.
Do you love art? If so, then Oakville Galleries is a great place to visit. This winter, they are showcasing two new exhibitions: A Many-Sided House by Wolf Tones and They Called It Idlewild by Helen Cammock. Check out their locations here.
Oakville’s iFLY
iFLY Oakville Indoor Skydiving is a fun activity to do with family or friends. You’ll be up in the air within 60 seconds, feeling free as a bird! Film.ca Cinemas is dedicated to ensuring its audiences have the best possible experience for a budget-friendly price! So, pick a movie and purchase your ticket online or in person. This cinema is located at 171 Speers Road.
Oakville Bakeries and Cafes
Want to grab a warm cup of hot cocoa? Chocolato +Tommy Café has 14 flavours of hot chocolate to choose from! Also, pick up in-house salads, sandwiches, baked goods or gelato while you’re there. The cafe is located at 236 Lakeshore Rd E.
Flüf Soufflé Cheesecake is a new cafe at 131 Lakeshore Road E. This place is the first in Oakville to serve Japanese-style soufflé cheesecakes. Also, its menu offers a variety of other delicious desserts and handcrafted drinks. To accompany its tasty treats, the cafe also has a pretty pastel aesthetic. Perfect if you want to capture an Instagrammable picture.

Piano Piano is hard to miss! Its building is located at 120 Thomas St and showcases a beautiful pink floral mural. This restaurant also offers a wide selection of Italian cuisine. Their customers love are mushroom cavatelli, eggplant fritti, and roasted sea bass the most. Check out their menu here.
