The Circle Game

The Circle Game
Location: St. John's United Church, 262 Randall St., Oakville
Time: Starts 6:30 p.m.
Oakville Choir's spring concert is inspired by Joni Mitchell’s iconic song The Circle Game, a reflection on childhood, growth, transition, and the passage of time. Each verse of the song captures a different moment in a young person’s life, and our program mirrors this journey.
From their youngest singers discovering the wonder of the world, to their oldest youth reflecting on their dreams and emerging independence, each choir’s repertoire corresponds to the imagery and themes of a specific verse. As the concert unfolds, the audience travels “round and round” through the seasons of growing up, following Mitchell’s metaphorical carousel of time.
The result is a full-ensemble narrative concert where repertoire, poetry, and the voices of our singers intertwine to tell a collective story of childhood, change, and hope for all the years still to come.
