Speaker Night at Oakville Historical Society | Stonehooking 1830s to 1920

Location: The Coach House, 8 Navy St., Oakville

Time: 7:00p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Join in at the Oakville Historical Society as  Mr. Ross Gordon Noel provides a historical view of Stonehooking – the trade, and Stonehookers - the ships, the captains and their crews. He will provide an overview of the significance of stonehooking to towns on the north shore of Lake Ontario, plus, what on earth does it have to do with craft beer?

Following his passion for beer (and large projects), Ross Noel embraced the craft beer movement and founded Stonehooker Brewing Company in February 2016. The brewery was built on Lakeshore, just east of Port Credit, and opened in 2019 with 6 beers on tap, a taproom, and a brand that pays tribute to the historical significance of a forgotten industry. Now in its 7th year of operation, Stonehooker is the proud brewery of award-winning beer with 54 recipes and many local favourites, all traditionally brewed with all-natural ingredients.
