Sitting with the Elders

Location: The Meeting House Oakville, 2700 Bristol Circle, Oakville

Time: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

For centuries Indigenous wisdom has been protected by the Original peoples of these lands.

It is said that teachings, Ceremonies, culture and sacred practices were kept underground, not only to preserve knowledge and wellness for future generations, it was also to protect the Original People from erasure.

The sacredness of Ceremonies, culture and practices continue to be protected and preserved by Indigenous Peoples and their communities. However, the Elders say, it is time to transfer Indigenous wisdom that was meant to be shared with all people for the preservation of humanity.

The transfer of Indigenous knowledge, stories and history, is a sacred oral tradition and a valued form of transmitting and transferring information honoured by Indigenous Elders to this day.
Grandmother Renee Thomas-Hill, Gail Whitlow and Dennis Windego, have scheduled a day to come together and share wisdom they believe will benefit the wellness of every individual.
