This is the first North American institutional exhibition of work made by Berlin-based artist Elif Saydam. In their expanded painting practice, Saydam examines the formation and judgment of aesthetic taste and the forces that influence them. Eviction Notice at Oakville Galleries will see Saydam draw upon traditions of ornamentation outside of the European canon to consider how dynamics of desire extend to objects and social spaces.
