Oakville has been selected by Hockey Canada to host the 2026 U17 World Challenge, bringing elite under-17 hockey talent from Canada and around the world to the community in November 2026.
The prestigious international tournament features top young players from Canada and across the world and serves as a key development event in Hockey Canada’s pathway to future U18 and National Junior Team programs.
“This is an incredible opportunity for Oakville,” said Rebecca Edgar, Executive Director, Visit Oakville. “While this will be the first time our community has hosted the U17 World Challenge, Oakville has a strong track record of delivering high-profile hockey events. We’re excited to welcome teams, families and fans from around the world and to showcase Oakville as a vibrant, welcoming destination while delivering meaningful economic impact for our local businesses and hotels.”
More details about the 2026 U17 World Challenge will be announced by Hockey Canada in the coming months.
