Visit Oakville Welcomes Councillor Ray Chisholm as Newest Board Member

OAKVILLE – Visit Oakville is pleased to announce the appointment of Councillor Ray Chisholm as the newest member of its Board of Directors, replacing Councillor Sean O’Meara.  Councillor Chisholm, who previously served as Chair of the Board in 2016, brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to supporting Oakville’s vibrant community and tourism sector. 

Residing in Oakville, Chisholm is Town Councillor for Oakville Ward 2. Councillor Chisholm was first elected to Town Council in a by-election in 2016 and re-elected in both 2018 and 2022. He has an extensive background in community development and engagement. Prior to his service on the Town Council, Councillor Chisholm was an employee of the town, serving as senior manager of recreation services.  His knowledge of the town’s unique assets and vision for sustainable growth make him a valuable addition to the Visit Oakville board. 

“We are thrilled to welcome Ray back to the Visit Oakville Board of Directors,” said Visit Oakville Chair of the Board, Mark Spencer.  “His deep understanding of Oakville’s community, and his passion for advocacy and promoting our town will be instrumental as we continue to grow tourism and ignite the love of Oakville.”

Visit Oakville also wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Councillor Sean O’Meara, who has served on the Board as Director, Vice Chair, Chair and Past Chair.  “Sean’s dedication and leadership have been vital to our success for almost a decade.  We are incredibly grateful for his outstanding contributions and wish him all the best in his future endeavours,” added Spencer.
