A Banded, Bulbous Snarblatt!
Just one of the treasures you’ll discover at this year’s Oakville Holiday Pantomime!
Life under the sea is better than anything they’ve got up there… if you love showbiz, screens, and selfies that is! Ariel is ready for a brand new adventure above the waters where life is seemingly more simple AND a handsome prince just happens to be there too. Ariel’s family, the Merdashians, are keen on keeping her down, however Ursula – the ominous octopus we love to hate – is willing to help Ariel get some feet on the ground… but at what cost?
An all-knowing bird, a sponge with square pants, and a tooth obsessed ruler are just a few of the hysterical characters that you’ll meet as you cheer for Ariel on her quest for life with legs!
Therefore the BurlOak Theatre Group is excited to present The Little Mermaid as their seventh annual holiday pantomime! After last year’s uproarious take on Aladdin, the team can’t wait to hit the stage at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts again with more wild adventures, whacky characters, and wise-cracking humour.
Pantomime, casually known as a panto, is a family-friendly musical comedy with humour for all ages. Typically an English tradition, it’s normally performed during the Christmas and New Year season.
Take a well-known fairy tale, twist it up with topical humour, audience interaction, slapstick comedy and entertaining songs (that we bet you’ll be humming along to!) and you have a modern panto!
We invite you to come and be a part of Oakville’s holiday tradition. Get ready to boo the baddies, cheer for the good guys, and create a bit of magic with us! We’ve got no troubles, life is the bubbles! So join us… Under the sea!
