3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The Oakville Choral April 2020 concerts will feature Fauré’s Requiem preceded by movements from Considering Matthew Shepard by American composer Craig Hella Johnson. Skillfully constructed with moments of tragedy but also joy, forgiveness and healing, this powerful and beautiful music was inspired by the life and death of 21-year-old Matthew Shepard and was composed on the 20th anniversary of his kidnapping and murder in Wyoming. Following its Canadian premiere in 2018, Oakville Choral will be among the first groups to bring this work to a Canadian audience.
