Once you’ve built up an appetite, mosey on over to Kerr Village for a quick bite. This small eclectic neighbourhood hosts three of the top 10 restaurants in Oakville listed on Trip Advisor, and provides a variety of unique cultural delicacies.

If it’s nice out, park the car and walk into the downtown core for a first-hand view of the lakeshore, the boats and the historic architecture. Take your time on the lakeside trails and then stop by the Oakville Museum for some insight into local history. Admission is free and the museum is currently host to two beautifully curated exhibits about Oakville’s Black History.

Oakville Museum Exhibits:

  • Nov. 23, 2019 – Sept. 2020: Commemorations and Celebrations
  • Aug. 9, 2019 – Sept. 2020: Preserving Peace: Souvenirs of Peacekeeping
  • Permanent: Freedom, Opportunity and Family: Oakville’s Black History

You won’t have to go far to find a good meal once you’ve had your historic fill. Downtown Oakville is bursting with independent restauranteurs looking to blow your mind with affordable and unique meals. Take advantage of this neighbourhood’s fine dining scene if you’re here during A Taste of Oakville (Feb. 19 – March 4, 2020), and indulge in specialized $20, $30 and $40 prix fixe menus.

We've Got Each Other

Day Two:

Treat yourself with a little lazy morning before setting out to explore Bronte Creek Provincial Park’s Maple Syrup Festival!

Maple Syrup Festival Dates:

Did you book a room under the Maple Syrup Festival hotel rate? Make sure to grab your complimentary day pass before leaving the hotel and hand it in to the gate staff once you reach the park.

Spend your morning exploring the history and culture of maple syrup, taking part in historic activities and hopping on a wagon ride through the park grounds. Head over to the pancake house for lunch and taste test Bronte Creek’s famous maple syrup for yourself! Once you’ve “stacked” in all you can, branch out and explore the beautiful trails woven through this expansive park. The Maiden’s Blush Trail (1 km), the Trillium Trail (1km), the Ravine Trail (2.7 km) and the Halfmoon Valley Trail (2 km) are all located in the day-use area.

Bronte Creek Provincial Park is also home to more than 190 species of bird, so birdwatchers can delight in sightings of hawks, merlin, kestrels, eagles and many different species of owl.

Don’t forget to stop by the gift shop on your way out and grab some sweet treats to remember your time in Oakville!

Tired of being on your feet all day? Make your next stop in Bronte Village and take a break on their beautiful pier. Once you’re feeling rejuvenated, you can explore Bronte Beach Park and the historic Sovereign House. This property was built in 1846 and once housed lauded romance writer, Mazo de la Roche.
