Join the Oakville Historical Society at St. John’s United Church for an educational and entertaining evening with Shannon Kyles of Ontario Architects. Stop by for refreshments, a bit of history and an overall enjoyable evening.
Shannon Kyles has been teaching History of Architecture at Mohawk College for 25 years. She runs the www.ontarioarchitecture.com website which illustrates various styles of historic buildings found in Ontario focusing on influences and architectural details. Kyles also writes articles on historic architecture for Arabella magazine and is the Architecture Correspondent for CBCs Fresh Air with Mary Ito. She took apart and restored a 1830s Regency Cottage. Shannon’s approach is to popularize historic architecture. Make people appreciate their wonderful old buildings and they will be more likely to save them.
Admission is FREE, though donations are gratefully accepted.
