Alicia Svigals, a founder of the Grammy-winning Klezmatics, is a composer, vocalist and the world’s foremost klezmer violinist, who almost single-handedly rescued that fiddle tradition from the brink of extinction with her recording Fidl. Svigals is the recipient of the Foundation for Jewish Culture’s 2013 New Jewish Music Network commission for her new score to the 1918 Pola Negri silent movie The Yellow Ticket. This multimedia event features Svigals performing live original along with a screening of the silent film and features Klezmer Unfettered and pianist Marilyn Lerner.
